Courtney Leligdon

Courtney Leligdon is the Undergraduate Research Coordinator with the Office of Societal Impacts. In 2018 she completed a dual major B.S. degree in Microbiology and Mathematics (Probability & Statistics Emphasis) with minors in Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology at the University of Arizona. Post-graduation, Courtney worked at UA as an Instructional Specialist for the undergraduate introductory biology lab course MCB181L while also working towards a Professional Science Master's Degree in the Applied Biosciences with a Molecular & Cellular Biology emphasis. As part of the degree program, Courtney completed an internship working as the Remote Coordinator for the Students Taking Advantage of Research (STAR) Lab program which provides high school students with the opportunity to participate in research with a STEM professional. Courtney is passionate about creating equitable opportunities for students of color, low-income students, first generation students, LGBTQIA+ students, neurodivergent students, and students in other minority groups. As the Undergraduate Research Coordinator, she is able to work on multiple projects that provide access to undergraduate research for historically marginalized students. In her free time, Courtney enjoys painting, baking, and spending time with her fur babies!
