Congratulations to Skyler Wyly!
Skyler was selected to receive the 2023 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship. The Fellowship will provide him three years of support over five years, which will be paid through his academic institution. Skyler’s research emphasized mindsets, adapting to mistakes in a learning environment, and secondary cognitive appraisal. He hopes that his research can significantly change how people approach learning from their everyday experiences by providing practical ways to apply their mindset and overcome challenges.
Skyler is an ASEMS and UROC Scholar. He graduated with honors in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience & Cognitive Science. He will be attending Duke University, working toward a Ph.D. in Social Psychology, where he plans to study how people overcome challenges and transitions and how their mindset and perception of failure affect how they learn from their experiences while pursuing a goal.
